Peace!!! Hmm…tough to have when the world seems to be crashing down. Covid, Afghanistan, high prices, mask/no mask, required vaccinations, restricted travel and on and on and on. Yet, for those of us who know Jesus personally, we know personally One who is called “Prince of Peace” (Is 9:6)…One Who gives peace (Jn 14:27). We can experience this peace living in a right relationship with Jesus (Galatians 5:22-23).
This year has reminded us that even during crisis, we can experience a peace that enables continued faithfulness to the One who gives peace. Living and working in South Asia had us “quarantined at home” for months as we waited for Covid to “settle down.” We worked online meetings feverishly to continue making disciples and developing leaders. Many of these faithful disciples would not accept Covid as a “good reason” to not be faithful. Sudarshan and his team would find a way to go to the villages and share the Good News about this “Prince of Peace.” Some hearers would believe and begin their journey following this Peace Giver. Many claimed “there may be chaos and confusion around us, but we have found peace and life in it.”
This is the nature of our God….of Jesus…of Abundant Life. No matter what life throws at us… uncertainty, chaos, disaster, confusion, name it…our God…our Jesus…gives Peace to those who know Him personally and live in a right relationship with Him.
