WHAT WE BELIEVE
AT JUST JUMP MINISTRIES
We believe there are two main commandments: 1) Love God 2) Love people
“Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself” Matthew 22:37-39.
We believe we have been commissioned to make disciples. He gives us the strength and power to be His witnesses wherever we go.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” Matthew 28:19-20.
Baptism
We believe that baptism is an act of obedience and a symbol of what has happened in the heart. It represents burying the old life without Christ and being raised to new life with Christ as the center. It is a public testimony or declaration of one's decision to follow Christ.
"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." Galatians 3:26-27
Communion
We believe that partaking of the Lord's Supper (Communion) is a way to examine our lives and remember what Christ has done for us. The bread represents His body broken for us, and the cup is a symbol of the blood He shed to pay the price of our sins.
"And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same way, He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." Luke 22:19-20
God
We believe there is only one true God. He is Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of the universe. He is holy, powerful, forgiving, and eternal. He reveals Himself to us through the trinity -- God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.
“This is what the Lord says -- Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God” Isaiah 44:6.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the Word of God. It is truth. It is the living message of salvation and redemption for all mankind.
“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” Romans 15:4.
Salvation
We believe Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation. He, God’s Son, was born of a virgin, lived on earth, was crucified in the place of our sins, and rose again on the third day. Salvation is not earned but received by grace.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’” John 14:6.
"For God so love the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.
